Researchers at the   Chinese Academy of Sciences   have developed an AI model that could change how we interact with digital assistants. The new system, dubbed   LLaMA-Omni , enables real-time speech interaction with large language models (LLMs), promising to transform industries from customer service to healthcare. LLaMA-Omni , built on Meta’s open-source  Llama 3.1 8B Instruct model , can process spoken instructions and generate both text and speech responses simultaneously.
